The Northern Helicopter Company (Army Corps 18) on October 15 sent a Mi-172 helicopter from Gia Lam Helicopter Station to conduct firefighting service in Indonesia.

The Northern Helicopter Company is a military enterprise that performs economic combined with national defense tasks. Along with successfully completing military and defense tasks, such as disaster relief, search and rescue, joint drills with military units, the company also provides helicopter services of various types such as tourist flights, oil and gas exploration flights, medical emergency, MIA, and was highly appreciated by customers and partners.
Previously, the company only provided helicopter charter services to other countries. Through market expansion, the company has opened up a new direction, with the provision of firefighting services to Indonesia, including aircraft, pilots, engineering, maintenance and insurance.

On October 15, at 6:00 a.m., the Mi-172 helicopter numbered VN-8425, along with its crew, took off for Indonesia. The company has two helicopters taking part in firefighting in Indonesia. With the advantages of fast maneuvering, operating on many types of terrains, carrying 4,000 liters of water, and being capable of accurately extinguish the fire, all crews of the Northern Helicopter Company are capable of excellently completing firefighting missions in the country, paving the way for the unit to continue to expand its scope of providing helicopter firefighting services in the near future.
